ENGLAND REMAIN 1-0 UP
After heavy rain showers through out the day the umpires finally called it quits with one over to go before a full constitution of a match. Brendon McCullum was not pleased as his effort of 60 not out was put to waste along with ODI debutant Grant Elliott's bowling efforts of 3-23 off 5 overs. The crowd was displeased and felt they had been treated unfairly by the umpires (Ian Gould and Steve Davis) because according to Duckworth Louis New Zealand needed 7 runs or the match was to be finished off the twentieth over.
England posted a total of 162 all out after their lower order collapsed and New Zealand made 127/2 before the match was abandoned.
